This is a demo version — it will not store data and is not to be used for formal clinical use. We anticipate SODA will go live in the next two weeks. If you'd like to be informed when SODA goes live for use in clinical settings, or have any questions, please email adam@stayingsafer.com. The Privacy Notice describes how the live product will handle data, not this demo, which collects nothing.

DRAFT — subject to change. Not a substitute for a formal partnership agreement where one is required.

SODA — For Service Providers

SODA (Stability of Opioid Dose Assessment) is a structured patient reflection and treatment-conversation tool for people receiving opioid substitution treatment. This page sets out the terms on which your service can explore it informally, ahead of a full partnership agreement.

This is currently a demo version. Nothing entered is saved — it's here so your team can see how SODA works, including the full patient and practitioner flow, before we go live with real accounts and stored results. We're finalising data-protection sign-off before that happens. Because no data is stored in demo mode, this applies equally across settings, including prison.

What SODA is for

SODA supports reflection, structures a conversation, and helps a patient identify what they want to discuss. It does not diagnose, assess dose adequacy, recommend medication or dose changes, determine review priority or urgency, replace clinical assessment, or provide emergency help. No score or band triggers a treatment change, clinical review, escalation or urgency category on its own. Your service's normal clinical, safeguarding and emergency procedures apply at every stage, independently of SODA.

Who's responsible for what

Staying Safer Limited owns and maintains SODA, its scoring methodology and supporting documentation, and is responsible for the product's own clinical-safety and manufacturer documentation. Your service retains full responsibility for assessment, prescribing, safeguarding, emergency care and documentation — using SODA does not transfer any of that. If a result or related discussion is recorded against an identifiable person in your own systems, your service is responsible for that processing, including lawful basis, access, retention and subject rights.

Data

SODA is designed to minimise direct identifiers, and the patient controls whether and when a result is shared with staff. Staying Safer receives only anonymised, pooled data, where this is enabled. Full detail is in the current SODA Privacy Notice (linked from this page) — please read this alongside these terms.

In demo mode, this applies trivially — nothing is stored, so there is nothing to re-identify. Once SODA goes live with real data storage, prison and other custodial settings will remain gated behind a separate agreement and sign-off process — please contact us directly if your service operates in a custodial setting and wants to discuss that route.

Intellectual property

All SODA product, scoring, content, documentation and software IP remains with Staying Safer Limited. Your service may use the approved version in its intended workflow; you may not modify, rebrand, reproduce or resell it.

Liability

SODA is provided for informal use on an “as is” basis while this draft page applies. Staying Safer does not accept liability for clinical decisions made using SODA — your service retains full clinical responsibility at all times. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Moving to a formal partnership

If your service wants to run a structured pilot, receive implementation support, or be included in formal outcomes reporting, please get in touch to discuss a full SODA Partnership Agreement — this covers governance, clinical-safety roles, evaluation support and (where applicable) commercial terms in more detail than this page.
